Parent Code of Conduct and Responsibilities
We, H-Town Rollerz Track Club, have implemented the following Parent Code of Conduct and
Responsibilities for the important message it holds about the proper role of parents in supporting their child in
sports and the successfulness of the organization. Parents should read, understand and sign this form prior to
their child participating in our club.
Code of Conduct
The essential elements of character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects the six elements all while the children are having fun.
I therefore agree:
I will remember that children participate to have fun and that the sport is for youth not adults
I (and my guests) will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy and by demonstrating positive support for all athletes, coaches, officials and spectators at every practice, and track meets
I will demand that my child treat other athletes, coaches, officials and spectators with respect
I (and my guests) will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, athlete or parent such as booing and taunting, or using profane language or gestures.
I will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well-being of the athletes I will respect the officials and their authority during competition and will not confront coaches during a meet, and will take time to speak with the coaches at an agreed upon time and place
I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during meets and practices, unless I am one of the official
coaches of the team
Responsibilities
I hereby understand and agree to the following responsibilities:
I will ensure my child attends practices and not just track meets, and that my child is picked up by the designated
times
I will ensure my child makes it to the meets and if I am unable to provide transportation I will let the a coach/team mom know 2 days prior to the game so that the coaches/team moms have ample time to try to arrange transportation. I understand that transportation is dependent on another parent being able to provide it and may not always be available
I will participate in all fundraising activities as I understand participation is required and not voluntary. I can pay a $50 opt out fee if I choose not to participate in fundraising for the organization.
If I fail to adhere to the code of conduct I will be subject to disciplinary action, including but not limited to the
following in any order or combination:
1. Verbal warning issued by a Club member
2. Written warning issued by a Club member
3. Suspension or immediate ejection from a meet and/or practice issued by a club member
4. Suspension from multiple meets and/or practices issued by a club member
5. Season suspension or multiple season suspension issued by a club member
If I fail to adhere to the parent responsibilities I understand that my child’s play will be limited and also will result in a meet suspension or multiple meet suspensions.
